Why the Square Footage Is Bigger Than the Mould

Nearly every dispute over a mould estimate comes down to this, and it is worth understanding because the answer is usually legitimate.

Remediation is priced on the containment area, not the visible growth. The IICRC S520 standard requires the work area to be sealed in polyethylene and held under negative pressure so spores cannot migrate into clean space while contaminated materials are cut and removed. The Line Item That Must Be There

The scope should name the source and either include the correction or state plainly that it is a separate trade you need to engage.
